I'm down for a show and shine. Some of us just need a little more time to work on the 1/4 mile. I think everyone on this site takes allot of pride in how their cars look and run. Why not show it off?

Squirrelina,
if we could figure out the 3rd event here shortly would it be possible to include it in OCT's Bitburg event?????? The scoring system would be very easy to put together, the 1/4mi & auto-x would be very easy to do. I personaly think that this would bring in alot more cars to the 1on1 events as they would have a chance to compete in more than just 1/4mi or auto-x. To walk away with "King of the Hill" would carry BIG BRAGGING rights  :ok:  !!!!!!

Let me know what I can do to make it happen.
Val

I agree with the BRAGGING RIGHTS. The car and driver has to be well rounded. Not just king of the 1/4 mile. Well FC are you going to compete in the straight line races or you just going to stay with the curves!

another idea-variation for the third contest: close to what Garry and Ben already suggested, but a bit more realistic in the daily driving situation:

PARKING

set up 3 (?) parking situations with some of the large cones, i.e:
sidewalk parking right,
sidewalk parking left,
backing into third parking space (around the corner)

to make it equal to all cars we can measure the length of the car and add the remaining parking space per percentage,

in count comes the used time, the number of corrections, and maybe the closest-to-the-center parking?

requirements: measuring tape, cones

I think this can be fun (for the people watching), and when set up right it can be a difficult thing which shows who really knows the measurments of his car and can handle it well - in ALL situations.

so what do you think?

So we want a little something for everybody to cover a wide spectrum of cars. So what is covered, Lets see
1/4 mile - fbodys, stangs and bugs mostly, Import crowd
autox- fbodys, opels, Porsches

third event , Just throwing it out there , because you don't see it often anywhere is a 3pt or a 4 pt drift course. It has a high spectator wow factor, Plus it takes some serious skill to manuever . But it is fun to watch and a blast to manuever through. I'm sure Our Dutch Friends would be all over this .

can not offer laps around the motopark.
I can maybe offer laps at the end of the taxiway (not the runway)
the other small road where the gate is

I was asking and been told there is nothing else back there this weekend.

what is the result of your all brain storming ?
or leave it to two competitions?

need to wrap it up, so we can get the administrative part together.

Gotta map of the airfield areas that are off limits. I would still like to see a road course be it small maybe shaped like a T or a L depending on space with a chicane or two to keep the speed down a hair.

I was told today:
from the AutoX area to the end you can have all the space except the runway itself

Remember Roger 'Folius' from last event ?
He will be back at Bitburg this weekend.
Now I got the idea to maybe have some FBE decals made...
since he does individual designs.
I really like to see how the sample will look like,
I got me some dragon last time, looks like scratched into the
glas but is a sticker and can be removed - it looks great!

I will send him the FBE Logo (as well as the 1on1 ones) tomorrow so he can maybe prepare something ... if they turn out well I guess we could get a GP going ...

Squirrelina, the mini "road course" sounds to be about the best idea for the 3rd event. Please let us know about the price of the 1on1 & F-body stickers, I will buy a few of each.....got a few open places on my tool box :D :D
