For the first time in over 3 years, my 78 moved under its own power. I drove it from the Kapaun auto shop down to the Pulaski Shopette and back. I have to track down why its got a miss, but all that matters is that it runs well enough to get it on the boat...because the crank is crap, I have to pull the motor again anyway.

Congrats ... I know how it felt to have the 79 back up after a year of having motor and chassis seperated ;)

Thanks Garry...mine's been more like 3 years

You know Jack, if I had the problems you;vehad, I would have ditched her long ago.

Francis, yes, the water neck work excellent. I still have to pull the broken bolts out of the intake. I'll bring it back to you soon.

Can't ever give up on them, I've had my 73 Firebird since 95. I got it out of a junkyard in Barstow CA. Got close to $15,000 in it and now it has been sitting in storage since 2001 and will still be there until 2007. The motor has 5000miles on it and I fully expect it to be froze up when I get back....a 462ci (550hp) down the tubes. Can't ever give up on it just gotta keep wrenching on them.

I know what you're saying Val. I just need to pay mine off before I start wrenching again. After the clutch, that's it.

We all say that but we all know once the bug bites you.....you never stop. Either you sell it or keep dumping cha-ching in it those are the rules.

In a year I'll have it paid off. Until then, it's not getting any more mods. That's all I'm saying. I should have paid it off before I even put the first mod on. That would have been the responsible thing to have done! :x
