Probably should be a 1 in front of the 9. V8 gets thirsty abovee 160kph

One of the german car TV shows had a test on today ... they ran the new Ferrari 430 on the racetrack ... the 30some k they drove it on the track used some 20l of fuel, average of 62L/100km

I saw that. The Ferrari propably uses a lot of fuel, but I think the TV crew tried their best to make the numbers look bad. I mean: mostly 2nd/3rd gear around Fiorano with the mixture set to full rich etc. etc.....

well guys, that's how it was - tank half full @ start and almost empty 300k later back home constant speed somewhere between 160 - 220/240 (slowly accelerating).
feel free to doubt it. but there's no need for us to make up stuff, neither any need to justify. the peepz who know us know that
ps: i'd like that ferrari

seems like somebody needs some driving lessons?
but seriously, who cares how much it uses, we drive it so seldom and always use v-power
I like that new Ferrari Scaglietti .................................................................

Now there's a topic for a thread:
MARKETING over LOGIC - how Shell manages to convince people to pay an extra 10c per litre for 1 octane (that is useless for 99% of all the cars on the road).

You're right, but my speed was between 120 and 140km/h (however, with A/C) when I achieved this number. And you have an automatic, right? Quote: but seriously, who cares how much it uses, we drive it so seldom and always use v-power
I use Super Plus cause I think it's safer with the high rpm track driving I do, but I don't think V-Power has any advantages in our engines...?

I exactely think the same.
Even if they claim there´s something in it to reduce friction on the piston rings it still think its funny how people put it in their cars and think they got a sports car now ...and they "really felt a difference"
Without raised compression or raised boost from a turbo/super i see no way how more octane should get you more power.
Perhaps i overlooked something...

yeah that's funny how a guy told me he uses V-Power to get extra power from his Twingo or Polo whatever it was?!
I don't use it for power but just to have a bigger bill for finanzamt

Problem is - Shell started it, others will probably follow, because
a) them high power cars that require super plus will only have the 100 left to use
b) there are always people stupid enough to buy it for "more power" in their GTI etc. ...
What bugs me is that they already started the same thing with Diesel now ... again I doubt it will burn more efficient or have any profits (except for the oil companies), at least not enough to warant the price difference ...

when the diesel was not as expensive as lately, I experimented with the diesel on the terrano.
the first tank fill was by mistake, not paying attention I grapped the wrong hose - and wondered of the higher price.
then I got curious (because they say it takes two or three tank fills bevor a difference can be recognized) and I did a two week testing period with 6 tank fillings
Result: NO difference.
The Terrano did not drive faster, it did not drive quieter, it did not get more milage on the tank, I actually was under the impression it pulled weaker.
Going back to the cheaper diesel: NO measurable difference.

You probably need a 5 or 7 series BMW to notice the difference ... because only them drivers are stupid enough to buy the more expensive stuff ...
Hey Stef, any chance of seeing the Porsche Catsup - oops - Cayenne with a Diesel engine?

Nope, Wiedeking is an Anti-Diesel crusader. (unless of course he can make money with it, but basically we do not have a diesel engine and would have to buy one to support a short-term need).
