Especially after reading your posting last week.
Today driving down the B-9 I got hit with a camera in the middle of the road.
100kph speedlimit (I think...could be as low as 80kph in places) and I was going...significantly faster than that. Maybe 170kph or even 180kph.
So...what does an 80 over ticket cost around here these days?

According to this and this with more than 70k over, you're in for a 375€ fine, 4 points in Flensburg, and three months of walking ... that's for the german side ... dunno what the military will do to you ...
Guess that means no Bitburg quartermile diving for the first two events ... probably three ...

I'm not worried. I'm reading the US regulation and from your link...I can stomache a 375euro fine. The US will assign me points. None that I can see them taking the license away for though.

well, hoping the best for you ...
IHMO, going 80 or even 100 over the posted speed limit is somewhat irresponsible ... sometimes, even german speedlimits are there for a reason ...

...applies if you collect that number of points with "small" fines, and will be a longer period (year) of walking, including participation in driving school with all the costs for the re-testing.
Now for a "big" fine - like for speeding 80, 100 and over - an immediate "walking month or more" is normal. And they just had on TV news last night, that they again increased the fines because drivers "seem to pay and go on - it got to hurt them to learn the lesson"
however... if you are walking we got one more person volunteering in our timing team

Not really. Remember, you just used up your reserve which means that you have to worry about next time's added points.

My mom got flashed doing 40 klicks over the speed limit, and she lost her license for a month. It took them almost 6 months to contact her, but legal on base actually took her license from her.
Sorry to hear that though. Don't you hate those DAMN cameras!

A few years ago I got tagged doing 181kph in a 100kph zone. It was on the autobahn. The fine was huge and I lost my license for a month. It is up to your Commander about losing your license. You don't turn it in to the Germans. Your Commander will have to sign a statement saying that he took your license and submit it to the PMO.

I went straight to the current company commander and informed him of the deal. Yeah, it's true that I will have no cushion for the next 18 months...c'est la vie.
We'll see what happens in about 3 months.
