I am in the process of rebuilding my LT 1 and found three spun main bearings so the block could be shot. Looking for a possible replacement, I just need the block alone.

If it's just spun bearings why not replace them? IF you didn't throw a rod you should be ok.

If you use the same block then you will have to have the mains line honed at a good machine shop and they will have to size the bearings also. The Big block 396 was bad about spinning main bearings and we ususally had to find replacement blocks for them. It was easier and ended up being cheaper in the long run.

I can get you a block with the heads for 900euro. Its a package deal he dosent want to sell just the block.

I pulled the crank out today, and as I figured..the crank was toast.lol I was surprised however to find that the block wasn't really in very bad shape at all. It did chew up a couple of the rod caps though, so I will have to order those now. I may as well go ahead and put a cam in it while I have it all apart...does anyone have any suggestions on a size? I am thinking of putting in a hot cam.

As for cams i did the math for some time and i can tell ya that it all depends on what you want NOW and in the future.
If you plan to make a decent amount of HP and work a bit on those heads than a hot Cam or the CC 305 would be a good choice.
If you want to make a serious amount of HP in the near future and invest in nice heads and proper headers than the GM 847 could be a very good choice or an XE grind cam from CC.
Any cam is better than the wimpy factory one, just by changing that cam to for instance a HC or CC 305 makes a world of difference, even on a fairly stock LT1.
I'd personally opt for the CC 305 over the HC.

Thank for the input Sergio. I believe I am gonna do a LT 1 to LT 4 conversion which runs with a Hot Cam. That ought to pep up the stock LT 1. It already has a butt load of bolt ons, so I will see how it does when I get it back together and go from there. Still waiting on parts though and I leave for BNCOC in a week

That car went 13.60@102 with just bolt on's. With the LT4 conversion you should get it in the 12s. The tranny is from PTCI out of Louisiana. It has a 2600 stall in it. Don't forget to have the computer tuned if you run the LT4 conversion. It will run like a dog and bounce off the rev limiter constantly without the tune.

I'd personally skip the LT4 conversion and go with something more radical.
See a lot of people spending A LOT of money for that GMHP stuff and end up buying AFR heads, LT's and bigger cams in the end.

That is a good link and I will keep it in mind, but that is a little more than I want to spend right now, I am getting the LT4 conversion for about $1500. What do I have to do to "Tune" the computer for the LT4 conversion?

Well, for $1500 you ain't getting the complete LT4 conversion.
It involves quite a bit if you want to do it properly and call it an LT4 engine (Heads, intake, Cam, Timing chain, RR's, gaskets, etc.)
For $1500 you can get a good set of performance heads (complete) and that's it.

Well..the kit is from summit, P/N NAL-GMP 3287-2 for $2,329.95 and comes with the intake, heads (complete), hot cam, valve springs, 1:6.1 bowtie rockers and all gaskets. It advertises a "proven" 425+ horsepower with computer tuning. I was off a little on my price
