After successfully losing my lug nut lock adapter yesterday (guess I should take it off the lug nut before the test drive) I was wondering whether the lock I have is a) an original GM one (as I only have 4 regular lug nuts per wheel apart from the lock for the stock 215 wheels), and b) if anybody else might have them and could bring the adapter to Bitburg when you're coming so that I can try to get the locks off without trying with some other tools ... dunno if they would actually fit, but ...

The adapter/lock I have is round, with several indentions around it on the lug nut for the adapter to fit in ... I can post a pic sometime if you want to compare ...

I didn't tighten those too much, so I might be able to get them off with it, somehow, too ...

Gary, unfortunately each of the locking keys that your talking about are different. If you still have all the original paperwork that came with the car it should have a form with the serial numbers to order the correct key. The easy out on this is to get a deep well socket that is just a bit smaller than the key and pound it on there and spin it off. ........don't ask how I know this The other way to get them off is to put a deep well socket that will barely slip over the key and lift up on the tire iron while turning (takes alittle bit of pressure)it and it will come right off without damaging the key........once again don't ask how I know this

Gary I lost mine and had to replace it . It cost about twenty bucks online. But then It miracoulsy(sp) appeared as a missile at a Bitburg event while on the slalom. It was under my seat .

I will probably just try to get 'em off without it ... the hub cap that goes on the center of the wheel has (kind of) a lock too, so people couldn't get to the lug nuts that easy anyway (well, not without a small hammer and a hole punch ... )

Oh, and the sample ID I saw on that webpage - nope, never seen something like that in my docs before ...

When I bought the T/A the dealership made sure to show me that paperwork for the locking key......they had a few problems with customers "misplacing" them.

Hm ... 13/16" almost fit, but slides over the nodges ...

OK, could anybody who happens to have one of these OEM adapters and comes up to Bitburg this weekend just let me know when you're there so I can try if it happens to fit to my lug nuts? Tnx!!!

To me happened exactely the same - you really should take it off before driving

I used gaspipe pliers to get them out, i was pretty surprised that it worked.
I removed the ones on the beretta (key was lost) by sliding a 18mm ring spanner wrench over it, tilting it and turning it. The teeth of the wrench developed enough friction to remove the nut...

Problem is I have very little room to put any pliers or stuff around the lug nutt ... oh well, we'll see, maybe I luck out and somebody else's fit Got the extras that came with my wheels with me ...
