Anybody know a part # that I can give to the yahoos down at AAFES to get a set of C5 brake pads? The pads on the GTO calipers are woefully small and the C5's fit just fine. Want to do some work this weekend and try to get ready for next.

Ryan your best bet is to bye them on line.

But back to you. So let me see, these yahoos can't punch in the year model for a chevrolet corvette and go to brakes. Tsk Tsk.

It's AAFES. I had to twist the dudes arm to allow me to go back and find a smaller serpentine belt because I was missing a pulley from the stock configuration.

yep, I just picked up a new set of Wilwood pads from LG motorsports, they've got the best prices on Wilwood and Hawk pads that I have found.
http://www.lgmotorsports.com

or try http://www.gmpartsdirect.com for factory pads

If you want to try AAFES, just tell them you have an 02-04 Z06 and need new pads for it. Just make sure you know exactly what pad they are giving you, it may not be the factory pads. I know that when I got rotors from them, I got Raybestos rotors instead of factory AC Delco Rotors.

y'all say Yenko, and I automatically think of the originals, worth in the ballpark of 100k (just a guess). Anybody tells me they got one, and I call BS unless I see the car.

Makes me think of the guy in Pep Boys up the road from me. Apparently he has a pro stock mustang, with a titanium block and crank. Somehow I'm supposed to believe that he can afford that on Pep Boys salary. I didn't even know they were making titanium engine parts.

Friggin dumba$$es!!!!

Yup, i care to explain:

Roy and I were shopping in the Wiesbaden PX some years ago.
I guess we were discussing some Fbody things when a shop attendant assumingly heard it and started his conversation about the Fbody in general and HIS classic (factory stock) Yenko Camaro ....
I guess he actually thought we bought it as he was bragging without any smerk or sign of shame on his face ....

Not a F-Body story, but this goy yesterday tried to sell me his Mitsubishi 3000GT.

"Its been taken reall good acre of. I just bought and now my wife is pregnant. I need to sell it bad. I paid $4000, I'll sell it to you for $3000.
Its a twin turbo. VERY fast."

Ok, so I say pop the hood. You guys remember that jack ass who was talking about his WS6 with the carbon fiber, cold air instake with a supercharger, and the Daytona 500 700r4? Wel, I saw NO turbo. He said he thought it was. I'm paying insurance for a twin turbo. Well, dude, you're an idiot!

All I could think of was that one guy.

I am pretty sure if it was a twin turbo it would have told you. plus it would probably say vr4 and would cost about 10,000 for a 91. If anybody checked I didn't but I think that is what they costed back when I was looking. and did you know that european supras didn't change body styles in 93 like they did in the states. or at least that is what I have found I found a 94 turbo supra for 4500 euro real nice but was the old body style and if I gonna be rice it is gonna be in style

Supra's ?

He's talking about the Mitsu 3000 GT VR4 (twin turbo) the counterpart of the Dodge Stealth R/T.
To my knowledge they didn't exist in 1991 either and started production in 93 and had a facelift and some alterations in 95 or 96.

I apoligize I didn't separate my post correctly I at first was talking about the 3kgt vr4. but then moved on to supras kinda to see if I was right about when they changed body styles. for the supras I think it was 93 in the states and like 95 or something over here. I know a 94 is an old body style.

anyways back to the 3kgt here is a 91
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... ename=WDVW

and his buy it now price is set at 10,500

and the face lift was in 95. the vr4 is one of the cars on my long LIST of cars that I will someday have in my shop.

If you want stock pads, the best place I've found to get stock parts is P&G Chevrolet. You can find them through Yahoo. I haven't been able to get GM Partsdirect to send me anything. These guys are great to work with.
