Got to race the 05 M6 GTO with my 04 A4 GTO today! Lots of action...plenty of things to talk about. More to follow...but bottom line?

LSWon > LSSecond!

14.1 > 14.6!

I got to break into the 13's today with cool morning air. Loved it! 13.9@99mph which is a hell of a lot better than last year's 14.5@95mph.

SLP Exhaust + Break in miles + Predator Tuner = - .6 @ the QTR Mile track.

I'm freaking stoked.

Convoy out of ramstein w/:

- Supercharged Stang GT
- 99 Mustang Cobra (or was it an 01?)
- Corvette
- Camaro SS

& myself. Got to tangle ding a lings on the way up with another American and his M3. That was insane.

Freaking awesome.

I'll add more later.

You are right, it was a great day of racing. Although I didn't run my car I enjoyed watching.

I did see the 2 GTOs run. Good race.

As far as the racing goes, it was great. The weather was beautiful, a little hot, but not too bad. But, there were some problems too that I'm not too happy about. The prices went up and there is now no club member discount. Also, some of the people who help set up, etc. still have to pay to race their cars and to get in. The pure spectators cars were no longer separated so there were a bunch of idiots driving around, not as bad as Eisenach though, but not as good as usual. The thing that pi$$ed me off the most was that I did not get to race the brackets. They started the brackets at 12 instead of 1 like they did last year and didn't have a break for lunch. About 1130, I went to get a bite to eat and then walked up to see about the drivers meeting and to set my dial in. That was at about 1205. The first cars had not gone down the track yet, they hadn't even done their burnouts. Garry told me I was too late to set a dial in so I didn't even get to run. So, what did I spend 35 euros for. There were a few other changes that weren't beneficial in my opinion. Bottom line, I'm not sure when I will go back. Should have gone to Luckau or Eisenach. Sounds like they had a better time from the calls I've had.

Just come over to Zandvoort this August and participate at the Festival of Speed.
Professional dragracing, Bracket racing, and at the end of the day (around 4 pm) you can do some Auto Xing on the Zandvoort circuit (Former Formula 1 circuit).

You'll get your money's worth for sure :!:

Hi good to see you all again.
Pissed off at the car or my driving. After gears this winter I went .3 slower best pass was at sorry 13.4 @105.39
Sad day when a N/A Mach 1 is the fastest Stang on the track. I was running better then a blown Cobra (13.90) and Blown GT (14.087)
I wish my tires would hurry up and get here already! I was still chipping a new set of Nitto's into 4th @85MPH
Got more stuff to help on the rear of the car too if it ever gets here.
I should be running a solid 12.7 everytime down the track.

Does anyone want to help out the "I need Traction Foundation for Spade"? I am taking any and all donations as we speak.

When you run a 13.32 at 115mph its a bit disheartening. My best of the weekend was a 13.0. Which is still very sad.

Well, critics and comments are here to talk about

- The price at the gate raised some, from 2 Euro to 5 Euro per Person, this is correct. Considering that the airport raised the rent on FRIDAY EVENING (pay or get out) ... and told me I should ask for HIGHER prices to pay them more - what can I do ? got to pay the bills.
This 5 Euro per Person include the vehicle, no extra Pit Pass is to be paid for, parking and/or camping, utilities, musik (occasionally live), for all weekend and a price drawing is all included.
-Discount: Past year we asked for 40 Euro - 5 Rebate for Members - 5 for pre-registration = 30,- Euro for the quarter mile.
The slalom/autoX had to pay extra 15,- to participate there.
Because the searching on the lists got to time consuming, I set the price to 30 Euro with no rebates, AND it is including Quartermile, Slalom and Round Track!
(Sorry that I really can not check who is leaving at night or only driving one day or using only one track instead of all three)

Also, some of the people who help set up, etc. still have to pay to race their cars and to get in.

There is a change: The event contracting and organizational part is still done by me, but the event is run by the "Timing Club", which is getting a percentage of the income.
I had the choice to either report every single person who got some money for labor (or free participation instead) to the tax office (which means everybody had to pay income tax on this 30 Euro) or to found a club and now the club (with the same people!) gets the money instead,
and at they decide (not me!) what to do with the money.
Every volunteer has the possibility to join this club.
It eliminates one problem: I had 30 or 40 volunteers every weekend who came and registered for free, but when I looked for somebody to help they were never there - it is always the same few people.
And sorry, a few minutes of help do not justify free racing all weekend, while others are working all day and don't get the time to race, where is that fair? [/quote]

The pure spectators cars were no longer separated so there were a bunch of idiots driving around.

Working on a solution.

The time schedule is printed on the handout and it was also announced on the mikro several times to turn in the dial in...
when we have a larger starter field, we need to hurry to get them through before 4 o'clock that is why I thought it is best to start earlier.
I am sorry.

Now I am curious what the "minors" were

Does anyone else wonder if the lights were set up at the right distances?
13.0 @115 doesn't make sense to me either

Makes perfect sense if the car spun like crazy. That will cause slow times but high mph runs.

You can bet money those distances are spot on.

Silke, Hugo and a couple other folks re-measured the track in March or April, the marks were moved a couple feet, but the points seemed to be pretty equal over the whole distance ... anybody who wants to is invited to walk the track during setup for next event and measure it themselves ;)

I didnt get to race this time, but I was there Sat and Sun. Are the FBE members not parking together anymore? I saw a few guy's but only when they were racing. Overall I had a good time. Way to many imports but I guess we have to Beat up on them just to let em taste a lil American power. I thought you guy's did a good job overall. I think the Ice Cream man made more $ than anyone.

What is the altitude of the track anyways? Also I am losing a good amount time because the car wants to bang the rev-limiter on the 2/3 shift everytime. I have to let off the gas and get back on it again. THe next outing will be different.

Measured on 3 April. ..."seemed pretty equal over the whole distance"

haha! the track was re-measured for an eventual approval for a "Race"
the start line is absolutely in the correct ankle and both sides are individually measured ...twice !! once in cm and again in foot.
the tolerance is abouth the width of the paint marking - a half inch wide, I even used tape to spray a finer line.
