Hello,

need you help. My front wheelbearings are "damaged". The original GM Wheelbearings cost me 260,- EURO on GM Germany.

Does anybody know if there are a bearing kit? Or on summitracing & co. bearings for my car (TRANS AM - 1996)?

Thank you very much.

Danix

Here's some info about wheel bearings:

http://www.fbodyeurope.org/board/viewto ... l+bearings

Actually when I asked my dealer for a price of new original GM wheel bearings it was 209 Euro (last September).

not sure if this applies to f-bodies or not, but on the vette, GM wheelbearings end up being about $300 each from the dealerships in the states or you can go to autozone and get the exact same part in a Temkin box for $155.

What i had to do was paypal my sister the money and she ordered and picked up the part, then overnighted it to me. Still got it within a week and saved a lot of money.

He means "Timken", which is a bearing manufacturer.

yeah, what 2slow said

it's my understanding that AC Delco buys the Timken bearings and puts them in an AC Delco box and sells them for twice the price. Again, that's for y-bodies, not sure if it applies to f-bodies, but you could probably find a similar deal.
