German police blocked Autobahn A1 towards Berlin yesterday, after they couldn't keep up with the 500+HP cars taking part in the european Cannonball race. Some 60 cars were stopped, as well as four trucks that picked up broken down racers.
Obviously it was easy for the police to spot the racers -- they all had start numbers on their cars
3 cars were confiscated (for going 200k in a 120k zone), the others had to do a 500€ deposit ...

Maybe because racing on public roads is strictly forbidden. That would ire me up a little to see a bunch of ass clowns racing down the with total reckless disregard to laws and public safety on the roads.

Yeah, some yellow flash lights and big red signs "I´m taking part in an illegal street race - please stop me!" would do the same job
I´m happy that they stopped them, most of these guys think that they are allowed to do everything, just because they got way too much money.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a bunch of rich people with expensive cars trying to have a little fun. Everyone else is just jealous.

Ok, sorry, i didn´t mean to sound jealous.
Of course it would be a pleasure and honor for me to get rearended by a streetracing Ferrari doing 200 in a 120 zone...

Its bad enough you have to worry about VW combis going 100 mph. Add idiots going 200 kilcs into the mix and you have to worry about the assclowns hitting the assclowns.

Kim Schmitz aka Kimbel...
How I hate this guy. He´s really a fat, arrogant, loudmouthed [...] a$$hole.
Besides the fact that he was convicted of a big stock fraud,
he manages it still to earn big money and buy cars and women (otherwise he wouldn´t get any, for sure).

I just think it's amusing. I like watching those videos too, but it would suck for someone to get hit at those kinds of speeds.

Well so far noone has died (that I know of) and in the end it's not malicious illegal activity...but flaunting of the laws.
The mischiefs that took place in America...many people were getting fines of $2k-$10k...so 500€ in Germany really ain't chit.
