Long time no posts, so here are some pics from 1 km. standing start top speed shootout, which took place this weekend here:

BTW. winner (supra with mediagate sticker) went 270 kmh ! :shock:

Also check this cool V6 turbo Lada on page one - it must be scary to drive it with 300+ hp. under the hood.

I went 215 kmh on both attempts, it was very hot and also some minor driving mistakes took away 1-2 kmh. In 2003 I went 223 kmh on same distance.

1 km is not ideal for my car, w. 3.73 rear and T-56 I have to shift into 5-th and cross the finish line @ 4850 rpm.

Few weeks ago I participated in the same kind of competition in Finland and distance was 1800 m. This was much better as on 5-th the revs were appr. 5900 @ finish line and the result was 256 kmh. Winner went 303 kmh.
