Took the Firechicken to the Dyno yesterday and the numbers are in. I was disappointed until I found out that it was spinning the tires from 5000-7100rpms. It turned in 438hp on 2 runs. HP came on at 2500 and peeked @ 6600, TQ curve was fairly flat from 2500-5500, very nice tq curve. An interesting note, on the print out it gives a "Kph" mine eneded up at 286kph ......yes I know it was on a dyno and the street is a different story but it was awesome watch it happen. Side note......we where asked to close the garage door due to the exhaust noise. The tech said that it was the loudest car he'd ever dyno'd I now know what the car sounds like behind it at 7100rpms.......it's just a bit loud . The cost was on 42Euro, not bad if you ask me!!!

"a bit loud" - could that be a slight understatement?

Got it dyno'd in Amberg (Bosch place).
As for the numbers I was confused at first why they where kinda low(or atleast lower than expected), after watching the video I saw the tire smoke, then was alot happier.
The car is actually not loud at all.........it's everybody else, their ears are just too sensitive !!!!!!!!

I have to say thanks to Val and Bruce for taking my car too. Val taped it and sent the video to me. Awesome! Mine did not suffer from tire spin because the cam is a little tamer at higher rpms. It put down 448 horsepower and peaked at 6500rpm. The torque was 632 Nm (466 lb/ft)and started dropping at 3150 rpm. I don't have the graph yet so I don't know the torque curve. Bruce is mailing it to me. Thanks again Val and Bruce, you guys rock.

Silas,
What's so surprising is the fact that it doesn't take that much to make power with the LS1/6/2 motors!! My offer is still open to help you do the swap over

Nah...I'm still stubborn and love the old LT1 no matter how much heart ache she brings. She'll be alive and kicking again in Apr/May time from of next yr. I'm hoping I can still hang w/ you guys even though your numbers keep climbing almost every day!
I'm saving for a used 5th gen.

That'd be sweet Val. I'm still partial to the C5 Z06 though myself and if I don't like the 5th gen I'll get a used Z06 w/ a 427 in it.

James
There is one in Mainz up by the park. It don't look like much but it willgive you your horsepower reading. But it is graphed mph to horsepower.
There is also a Mustang dyno in Frankfurt . it belongs to a Opel tuning firm
there, but can't remeber the name for the life of me right now.

Which park? I know of a Bosch on Appelalle but that is mainly electrical. Don't know of one in Frankfurt. Would be nice to get a re-flash on the Superchips.

James, there's also one at the Nring:

Their dyno is good for up to 700kW.

SSBeginner was probably putting down 10 hp less than me since his trap speed was 1 mph slower than mine.
