Ok, I don't normally like to slam a buisness, but I just shipped my Camaro to the states by ASI shipping in Ramstein. $1561 if any one is courious.
I don't recommend them. I would be happy to post a long and wordy statement describing my experience but most of you won't want to read it.
It comes down to the guy is very rude. He makes sarcastic comments to strangers. I had to continusly call him back, because he wouldn't call me. Then my PCSing appointments seem be an "inconvience" for his schedule and he made it a point to tell me that he runs every morning and he couldn't work with me before 9am!
The only reason I shipped with him is because I had the cashiers check made out prior to meeting with him.
Again, I wouldn't use the guy out of Ramstein. He also does insurance and house rentals, I wouldn't let my friends give him a dime.

Hope the car made it without any damage at least ...

I dealt with a company run out of the AIU office at the entrance to AIU to get my GTO here in Germany. Great experience and far cheaper than DAS that is partnered with E-bay....whom I bought the GTO through initially.
FYI.

Guess you need to get you an LS1 config thingy and set the rev limiter to ~1500 or so ... not much fun spinning the wheels with a motor only turning to those low rpms ...

I paid $1200 to ship mine privately which was back in 1997. $750.00 in damages minus $745.00 deductible = $5.00 check in the mail

My camaro arived in good condition. I was worried that the shipper was incompotent, but they got the job done. We did have to pay some fees on the other side (port and processing $170). All is well
I still wouldn't ship with ASI again.

I shipped my 86 T/A, non-op, from Kapaun to Houston for $1200. That's picked up in K-town, loaded by hand, trucked to Bremerhaven, container, all customs paperwork, and insurance. I forgot the name of the company but it's on a thread somewhere here.
Car arrived safely at the VW docks in Houston without so much as a scratch on it. This was a little more than a year ago when I left Germany.
