Well ... I guess Steff can tell you about at least one incident in Sembach where a 'vette ran off the track and almost (?) into a airport light ... I recon many times it's mainly caused by driver over-confidence ...

I can tell you about a Speedster losing it and collecting the guy holding the flag (me, it hurts), I can tell you about a guy mistaking the clutch pedal for the brake (not me) and driving into the back of a Porsche, or a Mustang flattening a fence post etc. etc.
A lot of guys seem to go into a hypnotic brainfade once they put a helmet over their head (propably a lack of oxygen in there).
