Berlin is working on passing a law that would forbid oldtimers to drive in the city. Reason: fine dust particles ...
Which is total BS ... apart from the - compared to all the other traffic - minimal amount of kilometers driven by oldtimers, the major part of oldtimers are not Diesel cars, regular fuel cars hardly emit any amount of particles ...
Politicians suck ... Their ultimate goal seems to be finding ways of p@ssing off all the people ...

AS far as I understand it, it doesn't affect cars registered normally, but only the ones registered using the "H" tags ... which shows that all their after is the money... if you pay for normal registration, you're allowed to blow out the dirt, but if you're saving money (H-registration is only 170€ or something per year), you're being restricted ...

First they raise the gas prices (..to safe the environment...),
then entire germany gets Diesel-mad and then they blame the few oldtimers for the produced fine-dust...
Makes absolutely sense to me

These guys are just crazy.... You know there is going to be law out there about this pretty soon. That says that around 300000 vehicles just in stuttgart and I think 2million in germany have to be taken off the street, because of this crap and I think it is euro 2 norm but not sure. Man they should take these crappy diesels of the street , thats all you see around yet. I understand the new diesels, but the older ones have worse emission then the gassers.

As far as I understood it, it's not that they're not allowed to drive at all, but e.g. Berlin is trying to ban them from the central city area ... bad enough still ...

Yeah you know I like the faces you get when you drive in a US car and they look at you like yours is a gas guzzler. If I look at some beemers etc. they get even worse gas milage. My dads hemi durango 4*4 gets around 22mpg which is great. And look at the new vette hmmm. Thats what I never they do not want any bad stuff in the air and then they drive all thoose diesels.

No, they are just being typical politicians. They don't care whether or not the laws they pass accomplish anything. They just want to make it appear that they are accomplishing something. Why can't anyone figure out that cars aren't a huge pollution problem. IMHO, global warming is a hoax that the liberals want to use to have even more control over all of us. Our American politicians are the same way. I often wonder how smoothly things would run if all the politicians stayed home and didn't pass any news laws for a couple of years. I bet it would be just fine.
I can remember about 30 years ago when the US went to unleaded gas because of the catalytic converters. The tree-huggers were all saying that global warming was so bad that the melting polar ice caps would cause major areas of coastline all over the world to flood. The other gloom and doom story they were telling was that the hole in the ozone layer was going to continue to get larger. Between that and global warming, large areas of the world were going to become arid deserts and we would have millions of people starving to death because we wouldn't be able to raise enough crops to feed all of them. Well, despite the fact that the hole in the ozone layer has almost closed and the polar ice caps are still there and there has been no major coastal flooding, the environmental wackos are still saying the same thing and our politicians are still listening to them and passing stupid laws. Hell, this year they were predicting one of the worst years ever for hurricanes and there were very few. If they can get a prediction right 6 months out, why would anyone want to believe that they can get it right 50 years out. Someone should tell them to go sit in a corner and color. Anything man can do to the environment is relatively minor in my opinion.
