Quote: We will have 1/4 mile grudge with times next year we need to buy 4 more lasers? I raced the grocery getter chevelle that was to clear up some s#!+ talking I did in Nurenberg. He got stomped it was a BB 454!!! the blue pick up got his feeling hurt beat him by 2 cars@ the 1/8th. The yellow 351 mustang got annialated and the silver z-28 with SS hood I pulled on him at the far end. And the red z with chrome oz wheels got his a$$ handed to him 10 car lengths. I was beat by a couple feet by George he cut a .533 RT to my .729. I was catching him though. During ET I gave Gary almost 2 seconds and had bad traction past the 60ft and blew by apparently just past the finish also within ft I could not tell who won but the laser informed me of a loss. all in all I should have taken my own advice and been on the lights a little quicker. However I had a blast!!!
Say it it aint so that there is another silver z28 SS running around.

Quote: 600lbs What does he sit on a peach crate. Helium in his tires. I can't believe that.
No interior, Ferrari seats at 2.5lbs(German) each, fiberglass rear hatch, with small window, not carpet or door panels....... I believe his number.........

Quote: Yes we need to do away with the 1/8 mi junk! Thats for hippies.
No problem moving to 1/4 - but still the races for the trophies need to stay bracket ... otherwise you won't get weaker car's drivers to show up ... what's the point in coming with a 15sec car, when you know there'll be lots of 14sec and under cars? I think it's fun to beat them big V8s with my V6 ... but just wait till next year - my '79 will be hard competition!

At any open racing session in the states there are still a lot of slow cars that still show up just to do it. I have seen silly full size trucks and vans doing the quarter just to see. I went several times KNOWING I was slower just to practice.

Quote: Nah if you really think about it . there ain't no way to pull 600lbs from the car. not unles you have 150 lb seats
Well if you look at the weight of my Power TA seats, which are in the euro camaros, I would say that is atleast 150lbs.... That is with pumps and all, power window motors, center console, rear seats, carpet, all plastic side panels on doors and rear, spare tire, jack then you go to a lightweight hatch with 1/5th of the glass and it is there...

This guy is registered on the site as volker. Now this car is stripped on the inside I mean stripped. He also said the rear window was pretty heavy 600 is alot of weight but I bet it is 300-400 lbs lighter. I am sure you will see him at the next race.

Well then I say good job. I want more power that will make up the diffrence in weight. Gotta cruise in comfort. Jeff you coulda beat me in the 1/8th my best was 8.8. like I said my car likes the far end better. But then we woulda had to cut the light the same so who knows? FWIW you were all over me the first 1/8 as soon as I hit 3rd I settled down a little. However I have done 8.4-8.5 1/8 @140 kph in Drachten NL alot better traction. But I think everyone had to deal with it so it was fair.

I'm glad nobody had to bring the mop and bucket or dust pan and broom for broken parts and dropped fluid. Would have been really nice to be there.
Garry, I was just funnin' you did good, and hp doesnt matter squat in brackets, and sometimes thats a hard pill to swallow for the faster cars.
Bruce, dont get all touchy I can see by your mph your makeing the ponies, but with 2.58 '60's they aint doing you any good now are they?
Jeff, your clutch was probably killing you on the big end with the slipping. Get that sucker fixed, and you'll be damaging ring and pinions in no time
you'll get a chance to snicker at me next week. Time to go base line the notch!!

Roy, as George said, it is very believable, especially when you see exactly how stripped that car really is. Even the hood is lighter!!

... at least not for any F-Bodies ... the 'stangs, on the other hand ... the yellow 351 had his coolant to blow (nice cloud! I beat him later on ...), the other (the burgundy was a 'stang, right?) blew his transmission on the way from the track ... stopped the race for 20 minutes to halfway clean it up ... luckily it was far from the actual track ...
Other than that, I think there were
