Those are good prices!! The only thing is the LT1 is different. The 350 kits are cheaper than the LT1 kits. There is also this one: http://www.strokerkits.com

Dave did you already research this place. If you look down the bottom it says also ls1 and lt1's. The price may go up for the Lt1 but It shouldn't be to bad. I'm going to ask them about the 600hp naturaly aspirated one they have. I just have to wait till there open so I can give them a call.

I checked out that sight but after doing alot of thinking. I want to go the already bored and assembled route. I would rather pay 500 in shipping than pay 1500 for assembly. I want to plug and play this bad boy. Plus I don't want to tow my car anywhere.

Yeah that's cool. i came to that same conclusion. I'm going through the GP Nu-Tek Motorsports is doing. The guy organizing it is basically giving me one of his spare blocks. I'm going to have Tony port my heads and have them port matched to the intake. I believe he is going to port the intake also, but not sure. So the short block will come to just under $4000.

I gotta get one first. You can run the one you have for a year if you find a spare?

with this new build up you can mark my words. I've always wanted to make my car the baddest on the street and now I have the perfect chance. I figure I don't want to do this again in a few years to get what I want the first time. I also figure 600 engine hp plus a 12-16pnd super charger look out it probably won't be streetable. But for now i'll just go natural and enjoy. I'm looking forward to the day I show Bruce the back end of a 96 green Z. lol

Besides the reverse cooling heads, what is so differant between a 1980 350, and a 1993-97 350?
Everything concerning the stroker, should be identical. Atleast thats what I thought?

As far as internals go but the external's maybe a little different. As far as bolt patterns on some of the parts, water pump may have a different design on the block. Other than that not sure of the rest. I know the price is going to raise when I call these people up and tell them the year of the car for sure.

Nice price at the sites you listed.. I figure the best on them is if you go sigle parts and can do most of the work yourself. That is if you have the tools and time.

Thats just it, there is no differance. The LT1 has differant accsy, and differant heads, but the iron block is a block, is a block.
A L98 stroker kit, should contain the same pieces as a LT1 kit. All it is, is crank, rods, pistons and some bearings...right?
I havent shopped these kits, so you guys are way more "hip" to the prices and equipment than me, just wonder if they raise prices just because 93-97 (obvious that it happens) but a informed buyer could get around that I would think.

Rob you are right the heads, water pump, intake is what made the updated LT1 Gen II small block. Bottom line A complete short block should work with very few proplems if you install the LT1/LT4 heads/ water pump and ignition system.

The L98 and an LT1 have different shapes on water pump. And the other thing is the distributor in the rear of the engine there maybe a way to get around it but it may cost some $$$$$$. I may be wrong but I was talking with someone that mentioned that.
