Just had a Loudmouth type exhaust fitted using 2 1/2" pipe and no silencers. Louder, yes, throatier, yes, palbably more powerful, yes, you can really feel it through the SOTP but it's STILL too damn quiet! Oh well.

It's called a aluminum block. Harmonics respond different. Put some headers on there w/ no cats you'll hear it then.

I kinda envy you here on this one . Mine is loud at idle ,off idle ,cruise and wide open throttle. But once avove 140 at WOT it gets very quiet. I think I've narrowed the problem to the space time continuem theory.
HEADERS OR CAM WILL GIVE IT SOME GOOD NOISE THROUGH THE WHOLE RPM RANGE.

Two questions:
1. Does the PCM need any adjustment after changing any part of the exhaust? 2. Are the lengths of the pipes before the Y piece designed so tht when the sound waves enter the Y piece one side cancels the other out? (Basic sound waves theory!!!)
Just a thought

The exhaust is supposed to give you something like 15bhp but it really comes down to whether it makes your car faster rather than louder. I'm going to Avon Park again this weekend (19th May) to see whether the exhaust can cut into my 13.97. I'm aiming for a 13.7 and I'll be happy with that for now. My FIPK is currently stranded in the States but when that arrives, I will be looking for, nay, demanding a 13.5. If not, it will have to be crushed and recycled into a Civic. Hehe. No pressure then.
