I am considering crossing the LT1/LS1 line and jumping into an 00' or 01' WS6. What I want to know is what kind of performance gains I would see if I installed the following parts (which I already have priced and $$ to get once I find the perfect car)
SLP LOUD MOUTH EXHAUST, WHISPER LID W/ HOLLEY PRO SHOT FILTER, HIGH FLOW BELLOW, FAST TOYS RAM AIR KIT, BBK THROTTLE BODY, TAYLOR 8mm WIRES, NGK TR 55 PLUGS, PRO 5.0 SHIFTER (or I might leave the husrt kit in there.... any comments on that?) SKIP SHIFT ELIMINATOR.......
I already have the LCA's, PHR, STB, and ADJ. TQ ARM for traction purposes....... and will also probably port out my MAF as well.... or de screen it
Can anyone tell me if this would be a good set up... or any other part suggestions..... I have about a $1300 budget and all of this including tax and shipping comes close...... thanks for all of the help!

Jr. W/ that you are probably looking around 320-325 to the wheel. I'd do the loudmouth, whisper lid or equivalent and some LT headers. You'll need headers for sure. Ls1 parts aren't cheap.
Why you ditchin the LT1? Keep it pay it off then look for a ls1 later. Parts will be cheaper and so will the price of the car down the road.

My car is paid off.... and she's starting to fall apart..... let's just say the ol roof don't repel rain like it use to.... especially above the driver seat! Also I found a nice (although white) 01' WS6 6-spd with 10K for only 19K......... kind of hard to pass up....

You will certainly enjoy the LS1 Scott, but like John, I have to say keep the Z. Buy a new top, and enjoy having a car that is paid off. I don't know how much you could get for it if you sold it, but that is what I would do man.
Good luck with whatever you decide. You should definitely do headers if you do exhaust.

Paid for?! You smokin crack man. Keep it! So what the top leaks. Fix it or just drive it on nice days like most of us do anyways. You don't have to put more money into it but at least enjoy being car note free for awhile. Wait another 2 yrs or so then shop around for a LS1. The 1st time I see a Hawk no matter the condition I'm on it. That's in 04-05 though. 427s will be cheap then.

I wish I would have known about the Hawks when I bought my car. It is just so plain.. I should really do something about that.

I have $6000 in mine. That is for the originally purchased 383 short block. That price includes long tubes and borla. But the engine I have now is complete with a bad azz top end. Haven't spent anymore either. Not until I order my 9".

Yeah I just sit around not saying much most of the time and it seems like most of you have forgotten about Dave. It's ok because what else is there to say except my car has been engine out for almost 13 months now. But next year will be different. I may just surprise some people.
