I HAVE ONE OF THOSE- HAYABUSAS.
MINE IS NOT TURBO BUT IT IS OF THE FASTEST MODEL YEAR. (99)
THE 99 MODELS ARE COMPLETELY UNRESTRICTED. 2000 OR NEWER MODELS HAD TO BE RESTRICTED OR THEY WOULD BE BANNED.
You could get around those restrictions with some work--
My speedometer goes up to 340 KPH with another notch for 360 KPH.
anything above 3rd gear and THE speedOMETER goes faster than the tachoMETER.
I have gone 335 KPH many times (open autobahn) but I have still never had the bike topped out in speed
it's like in overdrive but there is so much power the motor goes through the gears like if they are low gears
and I weigh 130 pounds soaking wet doesn't help either.
dudes let me put it this way-
MY SUZUKI HAYABUSA AND MANY OTHER MODIFIED HAYABUSAS ARE PACKING 190-200 HORSEPOWER (incl RAM AIR) OR MORE (TURBO) AND AT A MINIMUM 100FT POUNDS OF TORQUE
AND ARE ONLY PUSHING AROUND 580 POUNDS OF WEIGHT.
DO THE MATH.
Riding a Hayabusa is an experience that is simply to much for many people
I have been racing mine at the Nurburgring since I got the bike 2 1/2 years ago. I have crashed it four times, but I keep getting better, learning more, and I keep making my bike better.
My skill level is sky high. I am sliding the tires, wearing down my knee sliders, spinning the back tire and having the front or both the front and back tires become airborne as I go over hills and manuver the machine at triple digit speeds.
people like to watch me because I look like a squirrel riding a rhino.
