Hey everyone!! I am about to head your alls way come March and had a quick question... I am about to invest some money on a brake upgrade and was wondering what would be the best brake application (rotors, calipers, pads, etc) for the conditions presented by the Autobahn? Thanks in advance!!

Hi & welcome to the board ... looking forward to getting some more replacements for PCS-members ...
Whatever you get, make sure you get something that can take a beating ... 'specially if you're going to do things like Autobahn or N'burg Ring ... Roy has one bad *ss setup with his Porsche brakes ... mucho $$$ though ...

Your Best bet would be the Brembo replacement rotors and the hawk hps pads . they should last awhile for you . I donot your particular braking habits .

On my 2001 WS6 I have G2 Slotted and Drilled 13" Rotors on the front, and Powerslot Slotted 12" Rotors on the Rear, all with Hawk pads. I bought a kit from LG Motorsports for around $900, which included all the above as well as front and rear ZO6 Corvette Calipers and Steel Brake lines. They work fine; however if you can afford it, go with Brembo, Bear, and of course Porsche.

I've got the Baer Track Kit + aka ZR1 calipers etc. W/ the right pad and some ducting I can brake w/ the best BUT if you can afford the scratch the Movit's are awesome bar none.

It's so tempting to get them too but it's really too much for me at least while the wife is around. :D

Thanks for all the replies!! I'm still looking for whats right for me, can't decide =( Since I'm heading over come March, I have four projects I want to accomplish before I leave:

1. Brakes
2. Tires
3. Suspension
4. Tune-up

I've got about $4,000 dollars to do this with so I should be able get it all accomplished. As far as tires, I am looking at the Firstone Firehawk SZ50 EPs... For the suspension, the SLP Level One Suspension kit has caught my eye and for the tune-up, I'm pretty much just looking at replacing the plugs and wires using NGK TR55s and Magnecore KV85 EMI Suppressed 8.5mm wires... Keep the ideas and opinions comming and let me know what you all think or would change...

Craft, with $4K, you better get better tires than Firestones (not knocking them, but there are better) and get a better suspension setup than the level 1 SLP. Get the lifetime warrantied Bilstein HDs and some good springs, like H&R or Eibach..

The suspension part is an easy fix. Your best bet would be to get Bilstien and Eibach. Since you will be in Germany, you can wait to get them here, then again, oddly enough it may be cheaper to get them in the US. Just a warining though, the car gets stiff once you put those on. Expect to spill your coffee from time to time on bumps. :?

Thanks for the tip on the suspension upgrade hocheehoba ;) I am a coffee drinker, so I'll have to watch it!!

Since I've had two of you tell me to go with something other than the SLP Level One, here is my new list for suspension:

Bilstein HD Shocks
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
BMR Boxes Poly/Rubber Bushings LCAs
BMR Front 32mm Sway Bar
BMR Panhard Rod

Whatchya think?

Bilstein HD and eibachs are not a good match. HD's are valved for stock spring rates.

You could always get them revalved... Sam Strano does wonders with matching up suspension components...
