Yeah, not everyone is a fan of the expot bumper.
Can it be switched with a stateside type bumper, or would the inspectors notice?

Good question - but where does the US Camaro have its fog tail lights???

Well, anyway, that's what I thought ... to get back to the original question, yes, I do believe TÜV would notice if the car didn't have any rear fog lights anymore ... you don't think GM - or any company for that matter - would put stuff on a car, increasing the production price, that's not necessary?
Oh well ... I'm fine with the way the car looks - sure, the 'maro might look nicer if it looked like - say - a 250grand Ferrari or so ... but still, it's different, especially here in Germany, and it's nice ...
