Man that had to HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how he lost control of that because the road is a straight line. Try avoiding hit a animal is 1, the other possibility is he was trying to pass and lost control that way w/ a oncoming car. Man. That thing isn't a A3 more like a A.5

And that's probably already after slowing down for the sideway slide ...

Hard to tell what happened from them horrific photos! However, the emergency brake had been pulled in the photos, i doubt that was done after the fact...

 That damn steering assist lever didn't seem to work as planned...
The wreck couldn't have been that bad, the airbag is still good.
Where was this? Hockenheim?
Safe to say that the guy didn't make it considering that the ambulance stayed...

Yeah Idon't think the person made it either. Too many white sheets around . o ithink there was more than one . Plus one of the picts loks like ther is some tissue in ther from someone.
At least you can recognize the car some what.
In 1993 a 850 left the road on A 8 and disintegrated into nothing . Kinda started to look like that but there was noything recognizable of it except for the big v12 engine.

It's more like the cheap particle board they used to put on the backs of those cheap entertainment centers. My wife's mom has one, and it weighs like 200 lbs. :) I think they're cool. I'd love to take one back with me. I definitely wouldn't want to get hit in one, though. :o

Iguess you wouldn't have to worry too much about rust. Termites might be another thing.
So when you have an accident who fixes your car? schreinerei(sp)

Trabi was mainly built out of plastics ... they may have had a bit of pressed wood chips in it somehwere, though ... helps for the hp/weight ratio, though

Oops, that's not over here in Germany. Took a closer look at the other cars. Appears that he was hauling a$$ and decided to give the steering assist lever a try. Either that or got some air and lost it when the car decided to make contact with the ground again.
Not much left to recycle into a Fiat...

I would have to agree with John, but the driver might have been drunk also.
