It's basically the same thing, isn't it?

Actually, it is a custom grind, so it should be rather confidential!

I run a .544/.560 110 LSA 232/242 duration. Will be swapping it next spring though for the likes of a 242/252 .590/.610 lift. :D

MY CAM IN MY 393 IS A 260/276 CUSTOM I WAS JUST WONDERING . I THINK IT MAY BE TOO RADICAL. I KNOW I WILL NEED A VACUUM CAN. BUT I AM REALLY CONSIDERING DOWN SIZING.

It's the same cam Jack. Some days it sounds bad azz and other days docile. :D Depends if I got the exhaust fully opened or not. Oh but it I throw the superchip in that thing sounds like NASCAR. Don't know why but that chip makes that car sound and run totally different then Ed's chip. Now I just got PCM4less chip last wk my wife said. So I'll try that one once I get back and see what it does.

You are absolutely right w/ that. The cam was free though but I'll probably still wait. I do know once I get back I'll have it redyno'd at the VW shop or Nurnburgring w/ all 4 different chips and see which ones the best overall.

YOU REMEMBER WHEN WE DYNOED YOU AT THE VW SHOP. THOSE GUYS TRIED TELL ING US THAT BHP WAS BRITISH HORSE POWER. IT MEANS BRAKE HORSE POWER AND IT MEANS AT THE WHEELS. YOU MADE 425 HORSES AT THE WHEELS THAT DAY AND THAT WAS SHUTTING DOWN EARLY.

Well, the guys at "Top Gear" keep using that phrase, too ...
Googled it, here's one of the things I got:

"A unit of power, used in stating the power required to drive machinery, and in estimating the capabilities of animals or steam engines and other prime movers for doing work. It is the power required for the performance of work at the rate of 33,000 English units of work per minute; hence, it is the power that must be exerted in lifting 33,000 pounds at the rate of one foot per minute, or 550 pounds at the rate of one foot per second, or 55 pounds at the rate of ten feet per second, etc.

Brake horse power, the net effective power of a prime mover, as a steam engine, water wheel, etc., in horse powers, as shown by a friction brake. See Friction brake, under Friction.

Indicated horse power, the power exerted in the cylinder of an engine, stated in horse powers, estimated from the diameter and speed of the piston, and the mean effective pressure upon it as shown by an indicator. See Indicator."

So, BHP (if I understand it correclty) is the power at the wheels (as used in German HP ratings), while "IHP" would be the HP rating used in the US ...

I believe the US goes by flywheel and EU go by rearwheel. I wish I could get clarification on that.
