Either by the end of this year, or early next year, around tax refund time, I'll be getting the heads/cam package, probably from MTI, unless something else is out by then.....

Hey, since I installed my hotcam, I've had a oil leak where the crank goes through the front cover. I installed a new seal, but can't seem to get it lined up correctly so it won't leak. I tried 3 times so far and still leaks.
You have this problem? If not, what did you do? I am getting really tired of taking that dam pulley off and putting it back on.
Also, did you get a bit more valvetrain noise? It's really not a whole lot, just noticable.
Thanks,

Yes
I did get a bit more valve train noise . It is about the same as the new Z06 though.
As for the oil leak it could a couple of problems.
1 . the timing chain cover is not properly located on the front of the block. I can't remember if I used the snout of the damper to ensure proper alignment or not . But I do remember tightening the bolts through the oil pan to timing cover last. I also put a Dab of silicone in the two lower corners of the oil pan to timing cover area . I had notice a leak there when I was pulling my cover out.
2. The seal is being installed in backwards or is not being fully seated .
I kinda think it is number 1 . I hear a lot of people have leaks in the c/s seal area.
When you did your cam change did you remove your A/C condenser or jus brace it up on the engine?

I removed the compressor...my AC needed to be recharged anywho. I know that the seal in installed correctly, it is just not aligned on the crank quite right.
I am not getting any leaks around the edge of the front cover, just from that damn seal...
A few people told me to tighten the bolts on the oil pan first then the ones on the front cover. Starting w/ the bottom bolts and working upwards.
Urgggghhhh...this is kind of frustrating!!!
