Shipping cost:
How much are shipping cost to Germany?
Today I got a shipping quote from Tom at LS1Speed.com.
For shipping the following parts he quotes 1850USD!!!!
4 shocks
2 sway bars
one set of front upper and lower a-arms
2 LCA
Kenny Brown SFCs
1 Panhard rod
1 Torque arm
and some small parts as relocation brackets, cold air induction etc

Is this normal??
He mentioned that because of 11 boxes it is so expensive.
Common sense would suggest to make one big box!

I checked UPS website for a big box (approx 2mtr x 0,5m x 0,5m; and 50kg)
Shipping cost would be between 600 to 1000USD, depending on type of shipment.

How much should it be??

LuS1fer, how much did you pay for shipping??

Gunnar

 That is way too much. I can get a complete Chevy engine delivered to the Frankfurt airport for under $600. Like you said, one big box. If it's going to cost you that much, you might as well get a container and fill it up and then ship it over here. A container big enough for 2 cars plus whatever else you can fit in it costs about $3500. Shop around and see what you can come up with.
BTW, the prices are just for shipping and not customs, tax, etc. that you might have to pay.

Hell yeah! Way too much! You could probably ask the Air Force and see if you could rent a C-130 with a crew. Fly over there, pick it up and air drop it at your house.

Just an idea

Thanx for the info. I think Tom just wants to discourage me.
Over the weekend I will be off.
But on Monday I may check out Sam Strano.

Gunnar

BTW: I asked for cheapest possible way to ship :?

Try http://www.usps.gov

A friend of mine ordered a set of Corvette GS rims form the USA. Shipping to the Netherlands was around $60 for each rim (a rim weighs about 25 lbs)

Are you sure he fully understood you? Are you sure that total wasn't including the items purchased? I don't want to insult or question your intelligence, nor your knowledge of the English language, but I simply cannot believe that the shipping costs could be that high..

Hi Jack,
I am not Einstein, but basic mathematics is no problem.
The sum of all part is around 2700USD.

See yourself what I wrote and what Tom has answered:

This shouldn't be a problem. Shipping will be expensive since there are
11 boxes. Shipping will be $1850.00.

Subject: Shipment to Germany

Dear Tom,
My name is Gunnar. I am a German citizen and live in Germany.

Why do I contact the President of LS1Speed?
Because all other companies I contacted for shipping performance parts
to
Germany either never replied or promised a shipping quote but failed to
deliver.

Are you willing to sell me parts worth approx. 2700USD?

If YES, go on reading:

I own a 1999 Camaro Z28, LS1 (Euro spec, VIN 2G1FP22G8X2117905) and
would
like to upgrade the suspension, chassis and induction system.
My current setup is basically stock, except for H&R springs, Brembo
front
brakes and Dynomax muffler.

I like to order
SLP21046 SLP Flow Pack 295USD
SLP70008 Bilstein Shocks 396USD
AA003 BMR set of upper and lower a-arms BLACK 550USD
STB001 BMR strut tower brace BLACK 90USD
CAB001 BMR Relocation brackets 70USD
SB001 BMR front sway bar BLACK 150USD
SB003 BMR rear sway bar BLACK 145USD
TA001 BMR Adj. Torque arm BLACK 320USD
BR-SRLCA Billingsley Racing Lower control arms (Poly/Rod end) BLACK
200USD
BR-SPRB Billingsley Racing Panhard Rod (Poly/Rod end) BLACK 150USD
KBP19304 Kenny Brown Subframe connectors 240USD
And finally
9302CAM Camaro letters rear BLACK 20USD

I need the parts between May 3rd and May 21st 2004.
Please give me a shipping quote! Shipping cost should be as low as
possible.
I can pay with my VISA card or pre-pay by bank wire transfer.

Kind regards

Gunnar Lindner
