On my 1991 Z28, the fuel pump went out. No bigge. Its got over 175000 miles on it. My question is this. Can I splice into the fuel line and install a aftermarket fuel pump. Does the stock one have a check valve where fuel can be sucked from the tank?

Im also curious about this question...
But one day when my fuel pump died, it didn't even come on when you turned the key, but it was possible to fire up the engine for about 1 second, so i believe that it does have that valve.
Anybody have other suggestions?

i dont know when i changed mine i just happened to have a 84 ber. that was carbed as a parts car so I just took the pick up out of it and put it in my car and then put in a high flow inline. my car was carbed so i really didn't need a high pressure pump.
