I'm talking tranny, oil, and pwr steering coolers here. Roy aren't you running a tranny cooler? Where in the world do you mount all this stuff?!
I want all three but just got done looking underneath the car and there just isn't any more room!. My bay is empty as it is w/ no emissions equipment so how are they doing it?!

guess you got to throw all out you don't really need like AC and Power Steering (safes the cooler for this one) and mount the battery in the trunk then you got a little space  J/K

The AC has been gone for yrs but the pwr steering stays! Try turning a 12" wide wheel w/ out it!

John,
As for the oil and tranny, I'll get you some part#'s that will let you use a cooler that is built for oil & tranny. As for the power steering cooler, I know that you can get a small narrow one for that. My wife's truck came factory with one. It's located just behind the air dam(doesn't make a lot of sense). I'm not sure but does the A4 cars (newer ones 01&02) have power steering coolers incorperated in the radiator?? If so there is your solution, replace yours with an A4 radiator(tranny & power steering) then pick up a oil cooler and your all set. Do you want the part #'s for the combination coolers??????

Val

Steering w/out power steering is not as hard as people make it out to be. I've been doing it for 4 months now, and it just keeps getting easier and easier. :D

What's wrong with that? :D

Seriously though, I feel so much more in control than I did with PS.

I'm not saying I'm the strongest man in the world, but it is easy when you're moving. The only hard part is parking and getting out of my parking space. The only bad thing is that I'm not gonna be doing any type of racing again, until I get back to the States! :)

Jack your okay for drag racing , but anything that needs constant input all the time , you will get the workout especially with the Fbods 14to1 steering ratio. You will more than likely ruin the upper bearing in the steering column after a while. I must of missed your post when you gave up on power steering.

I was not informed of that Roy. You are the man I should have asked. How long do you think it will last, or is that too hard to say?

John, I just think it feels more like a race car that way. Kind of like gokarts.

How hard is it to replace that bearing, and is it expensive? I was truly thinking to completely remove the power steering altogether. :?

Like I said, I like the feeling of having more control. Call me crazy, but I just like it better.

JAck you want control , 555RII tires combined with -1.5 degrees camber and +5 degrees caster with zero toe. But that will really be little rough to turn even rolling .
