A good alternative to LS1edit is HPTuners. It costs $499 and shipping to Germany is $65. http://www.hptuners.com
Contrary to LS1edit you can use hptuners with all cars that have your make and model so you will probably ask someone who has the same car and model to buy it together. Just to save you some bucks 
If you only want to set the top speed limiter and rev limiter to a higher rating why don't you buy a HPP3 on http://www.ebaymotors.com? I guess you could get one for $100 plus shipping.

I got my Hypertech for 120 buck$ incl. shipping.
best way to make good deals is to look at http://www.ls1tech.com in the sales and on http://www.ebaymotors.com. But watch out, I think your car is 99 but your engine is 2001 right? So I think you need a Programmer for 2001 or so, correct me if I'm wrong

my camaro is a 1999 model. The engine is coming from a 2000´ Trans AM WS6. I will look for LS1-Edit, that looks very interesting.

Jens, Be careful as the Predator Programer will only work on YOUR car now that you have downloaded a tune in it. It locks in your VIN# on the programer so that you cannot use it on different cars. I think that Diablo can fix that for $75 so that you can sell it. For a one time fee of $120 you can get unlimited tunes. LS! edit is a way to go also....... I like my Predator programer, but I will have to pay for the unlimited tunes, but I knew that when I got into it also.

I don't know if you guys can get the same deal as us GTO's but a retailer is selling us Predators for $419 and includes unlimited CUSTOM tunes.
IE you do a baseline send it in to the guy and he will customize the tune for you. And it is unlimited so for each new mod you just run a baseline and he fixes it up.

Fast GTO, have you gotten any thing from RWTD yet?? I've been holding off on getting the custom tune for mine.....not real sure who to go with.
