I found a stock block and stuffing stock pistons in it with upgraded rod bolts. Heads trying to work clean them up valve look good chambers #1 needs to be cleaned up I am trying to save them but may have to run stock. I Plan to put the big cam in it so at least it sounds good.

Sounds like a plan. Hope it works out. Are you putting the laughing gas in it again? Hope you can get it done in time for Bitburg.

So, how many threads do we have about Hawk's car? This man needs to be under a hood. Not answering 30 different threads.

That is what I said from the begining. He is planning some thing. I don't think that he blew a motor. You are right Firechicken, you don't run 10's on a stock bottom half. Especially running N2O. It's going to granade.

I helped him put in his used motor. The old motor with the long rods and forged pistons is toast. It burned the #2 piston all the way to the rings and then it melted into the sleeve. All cylinders were scratched really bad due to the rich condition of the motor. I will tell you that the short block is bone stock. No tricks! Now he did put his cam in it and his heads. He is waiting on his computer tune from TSP. This motor is a one time shot at 10s. Hit the button and hope for the best. If everything works correctly it will stay together. There are some LS1s in the states running 9s on stock bottom ends. See LS1tech.com for more info.

OK, LOOP HOLES DUDE. At the begining of this post Bruce stated that #1 piston was gone not #2. Now all the cylinders are toasted due to rich condition? Running N2O you need a rich condition in order not to damage the motor. CAN I THROW UP THE BSHIT FLAG NOW! I will give you that they are running in the 9's in the states on stock bottom ends. Just hard to believe that he will be running in the 10's over here up hill. You figure 400hp on the stock motor and a 200hp shot of the happy stuff. 600hp and that will but him at 11.8 or a little better. I'm not from Missouri but you have to show me.

First off, Bruce is an MP and he gets confused from time to time. :? It is the passenger side front piston, which on an LS1 is the #2. I looked at it with my own eyes. Second, nitrous does like fuel. I know this. The only catch to Bruce's car was that it was running extremely rich all the time. The excessive fuel washed the rings clean of oil and caused the cylinder scarring. Finally, with his heads, cam, and computer tune on this motor, it should put it in the ballpark of around 460-490 flywheel horsepower. We are just trying to be optimistic about the timeslip. It could just come apart in the burnout box. With all the work we just put into this car, all we have is optimism. :D BTW HotRod, did you get your gremlins worked out of your car? I have a few videos of it and it was really strong in the 1/8th.

Just trying to ruffel your feathers a bit. I hope that all is well with bruce and that it will hold together. If it does come appart I have room to keep it here if that is what he wants. Let's just hope that it doesn't come to that. I am affraid about the same thing. I am running rich also. I did do some work on it this weekend and found a vacuum leak before he throttle body. I pulled some plugs and they looked funny. Outer ring(where the threads are) is black and the rest is white. They didn't look like they were damaged. With the vacuum leak fixed it seamed to run a little less rich. I think that there is another leak some where. So the 1/8th mile looked strong. Good, just have to figure out the upper half and I will be in the 12's. Are you coming down for the Oct races?

But of course I will be there unless Uncle Sam or my car have other ideas. I have a few more bolt ons that should push the NX to the 11s. BTW, you didn't ruffle my feathers. Bruce and I were just trying to have a little fun with the Mustang crowd. I hope you get your rich condition figured out. Does it have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? If so, what pressure are you running with the vacuum line off the regulator?
