A friend of mine and I installed a set of Pacesetter LT headers and y-pipe in my car this weekend. The headers fit perfect and did not require any engine lifting or grinding at all. I actually had the headers on and the car started in 2 1/2 hours. Then came the y-pipe. Now it fits perfect to the headers but would not mate up to my Load Mouth exhaust. After about 3 more hours of cutting, expanding, and hitting with a wood handle it finally went on. Now for the not so good news. This MF is LOUD! Too loud. I am now searching for a bullet muffler to weld in. Fair warning, if you have a loadmouth exhaust and you put on LT headers and an off road y-pipe, you will need an additional bullet muffler. This thing sounds like open headers. My neighbors really love me now.

NXZ28,
Congrats on the header install!!! I know the amount of noise your talking about, Roy's is set up like that too. When we where going to Hockenheim ring I could hear his car over mine and I'm running the GMMG. Sounds AWESOME that loud, NASCAR style!!! Hope the bullit muffler gives you what your looking for.

Just typing too fast. My ears are ringing also. I am going to go to every shop around here and find a muffler. I will get a ticket with the noise. I like loud (not Load-Jason) cars but this thing is a little too loud for everyday use. It sounds like open headers.

even though I have a 6, I ordered the Pacesetter headers and y-pipe for mine (was only about 200$) and I hope they get in before this weekend so I can get them on...and hopefully all will go well when I put the Magnaflow on....

I could've told ya if ya asked. FLP's w/ no cats, and a borla is loud on mine and that's w/ it capped 80%. I know exactly what you sound like. JC had Hooker LT's and loudmouth and dat chit was unbearable. Finally put a choke master on it to shut it up. No way you'll pass inspection w/ that. LOL! You've must be good for the year already.
Congrats on the install though.

I ordered a bullet muffler from a German tuner shop yesterday. That thing cost $165 but I need it right away. My car will actually have a tuner part on it.

you should sell the y-pipe and the loud mouth and go true duals with bullets. it will be a much better sound and fabbing duals off the longtubes is way easy

No can do over here. My wife loves the quadtip exhaust system. When I get it back to the states I will install the true dual exhaust system.

Dude, he just bought that setup. Why on earth would he sell it already. He got the rear valence, too, and it would look stupid without the quad tips.
