This is directed to Z28 (LS1) drivers in Germany:
What is the emission rate of the Z28?
On the Homepage of Chevrolet Europe its said that the Z28 meets Euro3, but now I hear from a car dealer, that the Z28 (98 model) he offers meets only Euro2. It has the emission group number 26.

Please tell me, what is the code (Typschluessel-Nummer) in your car papers (only the number gives a clear indication of how much to pay) and what else is written there,ie schadstoffarm nach Euro...and finally (if you do not mind) the actual amount you pay since 1st of January 2001!)

I find the car tax system in Germany very confusing:
There is Euro1, E2 which is different to Euro2, Euro2/D3, Euro3, D4 and Euro4. I am not sure, whether this is complete now.

Oh dear!
Gunnar

Hi,

can't give you the actual tax level of the Z, as I only have the 98 V6 ... which is Euro2 or DM 12,-/100ccm.
Actually, we are only talking about a difference of DM 114,- per year ... if you should only register the car for 6-8 months, this would be reduced accordingly ... therefore, at least at the moment, the difference between Euro2 and D3(?) is rather small (compared to the cost of the car ...) ... if your car dealer has a Z, he should have the number you need, too ... ?!

Anyway, we do have a new member with a Convertible Z28, I guess he should be able to supply the numbers ...
