I am purchasing a ZO6 Corvette, which is a 4 SPD Automatic, anyone have any idea how much it would cost to change it into a 6 SPD Manual?

What all would have to be changed? I know the Transmission, and obviously add a cluch and shifter. Anything else have to be changed?

I used this as first source:
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200480

Have the same plan with a Viper-T56 but put it on hold since the knowledge of german workshops about american cars is mournful - but german labour in contrast is hefty - this together is a joke (to pay many money for a bad job*).

I didn't think the Z06 came with Automatic. Yep proof positive there is no such thing as a auto Z06 Corvette action center

...bought/built by somebody can't shift manually, but still wanted a sports car.

Can't you tell by running the VIN through a decoder?

OK OK... I was like WTF as well. The ad said 4-spd Auto, and the guy on the phone said it was an Auto... but I drove it today... Definately a 6-spd Manual, and it is nice and fast.

Oh,.... and I bought it as well. Why not? Im single.

Ken

That would be a DOUBLE NO. I sold the bird for $24,000. Not gonna race the vette.. just drive slow and look pretty. Moving back to Germany in July... so I will drive as slow as possible on the autobahn.... YEAH RIGHT!!!

That's great news on the purchase! One day I'll own one as well but now I'm just contemplating dumping the the C6 C5R block in it along w/ the brake upgrade. Still have time to decide. I'm not totally sold on the C6 Z06 looks even though I've seen a few pics of it in blk and red. Blk definetly looks killer but I have a love for the C5 Z06 body.

Hooch? I thought you were still in Germany? Where are you at then and when are you coming back?

Congrats. C5 ZO6s are going for ridiculous prices, so i'm happy to see people taking advantage of the offers. :D

Watch it Garry. Mine is an auto. The selections on Camaros in Germany is limited. I only miss the 6-speed on the Autobahn.
