Hm ... would be a nice replacement for my V6  just the replacement axle, gears, tranny, etc. will make the whole thing a bit pricy

Damn good price for a 427. May be buying one myself and let it sit on the stands til I find me a donor C5 or C5 Z06.

Estimates have ranged from a low of $9k to a high of $15k. I don't think it will bust those two parameters.
However, when you consider that a used LS1 can go anywhere from $3k-$6k on e-bay, the price difference doesn't seem to be all that bad of a deal.
