Just feels like it does not want to grab sometimes. It also bangs the revlimiter on the 2/3 shift on WOT. I tried to have that programmed out but it still happens. I dont know if that is still bad tunning or tranny going out. There is a 100k miles on the transmission. My money is the tranny.

What year is the car? When you are under WOT what gear do you have the selector lever in? Mine would hit the rev limiter from 2nd to 3rd when I shifted it into drive under WOT. I had to go from 2nd to Overdrive about 500 rpms before the rev limiter. Then it would shift fine. Also, I think the shifting of the tranny runs through the Throttle Posistion Sensor on the T-body. Are you coming up with any codes in the computer?

I have a 98. I leave the car in overdrive all the time. I never shift the car manually. I dont have any ses lights. I dont have a way to scan the computer.

Well, you are probably right about the tranny going bad since it has 100K on it. My 95 Camaros tranny only lasted until 89K. It lost the 3&4 clutch pack. It did not have rev limiter problems though. With an aftermarket tuner you can raise the rev limiter to help out with that. It also may have more to it than just that. You might want to take it to a dealership and have them run a few tests on the TPS, Transmission line pressure, and TCC. That might save you from having to buy a whole new tranny. Your car runs 12.4s @ 110 right? That tranny is on borrowed time with that kind of power.

Yes it runs 12.40's. It would be faster if I could stay in it the whole way down. The car has already been tuned twice with LS1 edit. Once before coming overseas and again after the first time at Bitburg. I had the 2/3 shift lowered and the rev limiter raised but it did not help any. I already replaced the TPS just before the races. If I went and bought a hughes rebuild kit how hard are we talking about to rebuild a tranny?

It is a pain in the butt to rebuild. The most important being the cleaning and inspection phase. Look at the forward clutch housing. Mine had a hair line crack and I didn't catch it until the rebuild. Don't try and do a shift kit either because it just proved to be more problems later. Go to Summitracing.com. I know they sell a do it yourself rebuild manual for the 4L60e. When you have the tranny apart take digital photos of everything before you disassemble it. Just in case you can't remember where something went. The clips for the gear assemblies inside the tranny are the hardest to get. You will also need a tool to compress the spring assemblies inside the tranny so you can get the clip retainers out. The reverse drum is the hardest because it is so deep in the tranny. Also, make sure you soak the new clutches in Dextron before installing. If you install them dry they will rub together on initial start up and be done shortly afterwards. Last but not least is the torque converter. If your tranny has worn clutches, the "clutch dust" ususally gets inside the converter. You will need to clean the inside thoroughly. Most just put a new converter on it. Also, you will need to spray out the tranny oil cooler and lines to get all the trash out of it and make sure there are no clogs in the system. I hope this helps out a little. I could write two pages of this stuff. Let me know if you need anymore information.

Sounds like you already have the expertise in doing it. Maybe you could give me a hand? :) That is if you have the tools because I dont. :(
