As some of you know I've had this volt issue dating back a yr or so. I swear I didn't do anything. Went to put a vortex cone in the collector header to quiet it down some today and moved my IAC wires (relocated) since I had to extend them for the LS1 lid. That's basically it. The only other thing I did was I looked at the pigtail of the alt wire going to the alt and it had a nice bend going there so all I did was move it around to straighten it out.

Well my condition was never heat related but I figure maybe it's because it's close to the header but not close enough IMO to cause an effect but I do distinctively remember my tranny wire getting hot and causing the guage to go banana's so that was my reason of investigating the one wire since that's all I have for the alt besides the positive cable.

I decided to crank the car to see if it was quieter and I immediately notice the volts at 14v! My throttle response is super crisp and then I decide to blip the throttle to see it dip once I hit 2500 rpms and whatdoyaknow it's no longer dipping! I got so excited I didn't test it again and shut the car off in fear that I was just dreaming. But I swear the symptoms are gone.

So my question is could a wire w/ that kind of bend disrupt current? I'm no electrician but I just can't image a single wire esp being so small in guage having this kind of affect. If this is true then I got a brand new 200a alt enroute for nothing along w/ my 1/0 guage battery cables already sitting downstairs waiting to go in. I like overkill cuz ya never know.

I need to go start it again just to make sure I was seeing things. Now I have to wonder why my ABS INOP light is showing all of a sudden. It only occured after I installed my ducting and did some clearance test on the jackstands. May have pinched something. I can live w/ that light though for now. As long as the other crap is doesn't rear it's head again. :D

Maybe the wires inside are broken ... could cause problems ...

Well I wasn't dreaming it's cured! But now the problem is w/ my ABS and e-brake light staying lit. I know it has something to do w/ the fuse panel on the side of the door because all I did was put the panel back on after it has been off for the last 2 wks. So now it's just a matter of tracing what fuse is blown IF it's blown or the wires associated to the ign switch or something.

Well the ABS and E-brake are fixed. Don't know what I did other than take the ducting off. Must've been in contact w/ the sensors or something.
