Oh, now I see.

You are one of "those" guys.

I think you need to take Roy's words to heart.

What do you mean by "those" guys? You know how to get under a guys skin. Don't get what your problem is. Do you not want to believe F-body parts break? Or do you believe you abuse your car more??

Okay This is going the wrong way fast. Were all auto enthusiast here, aren't we . All I was referring to was if your benchracing in here (telling a tall tale ) , We have some heavy hitters in that know what it takes to break parts and stuff. That is not to say there is an occasional defect every now and then. For the most part werean easy going bunch of Hooligans. We don't care what you drive ,as long we all like cars and motorsports and a couple beers with a evening meal. Well that is my opinion anyway.

Wow. This thread got interesting fast. I guess some people just have worse luck with cars. I think it is safer to make a few meetings and races to get to know everyone before you lay all your experiences out. That is just my opinion. I have no reason to doubt anyone here. I remember on another website, a new member said that his goal was to be the fastest street car over here. Man, he got eaten alive. Then he made a few meetings and races and all was forgiven.

Ok. I got it. Sorry, I took it kinda personal. Never been taken "that" way in person. I can't wait to meet everyone and hang out. Didn't mean to put too much out there. I guess all the stuff without any history would make me scratch my head too. I like this car more than my 3rd Gen. It's just had a lot more problems. I had less trouble with the drag car. I'm not sure why. Thx All.

This was the most recent and last repair in US. I didn't even get to pick it up, it was done the day after I left. FYI the total $2436.23 on the invoice doesn't include the A/C compressor or the rearend, both supplied by warranty company or the tensioner that I paid for. The cost and no warranty on it over here makes me leary to race. I'll probably work on reliability and suspension for now.

Address and phone numbers are not good any more obviously.

That is what I spent last year in mod money. I hate it when you take steps backwards but I guess it happens to all of us. Hope you get better luck out of it over here. I haven't had any problems with the rear end in my car (Knock on Wood) and I have put a little power to it. It did start vibrating real bad once and I thought that was it. Come to find out I just lost a wheel weight on one of my drag radials. I am doing like most everyone else and getting a 9" for it.

I don't understand why the powersteering should go out from racing - after all, while the wheels are rolling, the strain on it should be lower than e.g. parking or slow city driving.

Yes, back to the original topic......... Has anyone installed an aftermarket P/S cooler. I got the pressure hose on the way. I just want to considerThe Turn One P/s pump with pulley is about 330$ but I think that will be before the underdrive crank pulley.

Garry- the steering only lets the fluid through so fast, at higher RPM's it builds more pressure and needs somewhere to go, ie a hose, the seal between the resevoir and the pump, or the pump itself. I'm hoping the pump that was suggested solves this. I figure the pump plus the added capacity of a decent size cooler will set it up perfect for the lower revolutions of the underdrive pulley. Hopefully increasing reliability.

NXZ28- You have to give it to Ford on that. They built a decnt rearend to drag their carcass across the line behind us. The 9" rules the track, just like the SBC is the engine of choice. How are you going to get it over here?

If there is a problem that keeps coming back after you fix it, something else is causing the problem, causing this result.

This should be taken into consideration especially when there are mods in the mix......as mods should be used to compliment the entire system, in which it works with, not as a horsepower solution in itself.....

That sounds like a good plan.

I think you are going to waste $330 dollars on a pump that you don't need. How does you power steering feel? If it is real tight at low rpms you may want to look at the rack and pinion. Take off the lines and see if something is clogged. A line could also be pinched. Your pump should be fine on a stock pulley. I know a few people turning over 6800 rpm with the stock crank pulley and stock pump.
