So what was your final decision? I will not be here next year, so I want to find out now.... Keep it and mod or sell and mod?

You should be able to do it for less than that.. 5g's should be mid to lows.....

low 11's on 5k????? Doubt it. Not N/A anyway. A 12 bolt will eat 2.5k of that, plus slicks and the rims, and that is the only way you are going to get your 60' down low enough to run those numbers.
g'luck

3 G's dipped me into the 11's, I think with the right combo of parts 5K could definately put you 11.3x - 11.6x range.

there is alot of money and broke $hit between 11.9 and 11.3.
5K... Okay, I'll be from Missouri, show me. Heads and cams get you so far. You want to run a 11.teen, you better get some gear and be prepared to call ADAC cuz you will have to launch like no tomarrow.
Apparantely everyone else on LS1.com agrees with me, cuz if its N/A it aint running that fast with the stock block, and a M6.

who said M6/ No slicks/ and just a head and cam? I plan on a complete package that has been proved with 11.2 time slips. With a few tricks of my own. So I will not be deadlined during the summer cruising time. trick is build it for low 11's and beat the guy you are racing and that is it. For bracket dial it in get out the hole and wait for the guy on the far end just beating him. I know I will have problems but that is why I ask advice from you guys? I have read alot about M6 in the 11's so I think it can be done with the right combo and some good driving?

I was going off the proposed 5k budget. Heads, cam and PCM is about all 5k will buy, that has a hope of making that kind of power.
The 12 bolt, and slicks will be ineveitable, because consider 450-500 rwhp in a LS1 needs a 1.6 or better 60' to run 11.2 -11.5.
Then there is a problem with road race biased suspensions and weight transfer. Bottom 11's is a huge task if your going N/A and hope to keep your car streetable.
Can it be done? Of course it can, people all over are doing it, the LS1's are starting to run as fast as the race prepped LT1 now, so people have learned how to deal with the special requirements of the LS1.
Not doubting your cababilities of building one, or driving it to your goal. I just dont see it being under 5K.

I am trying to learn from everybody else that is doing it. The prices are droping fast on the engine/computer kits. I agree with what you said bout 60ft times right now they are just over 2sec yuuuck.

Might as well get that 12 bolt while you're at it!
