Sounds like they suck. Are they expensive parts to replace? Where are they on the engine? The typical distributor spot on a small block or somewhere else?

It is located up front on the crank under the water pump. I like the ls1 ignition system better.

OK, so it's basically a crank trigger.

The Opti is located right behind and bellow the water pump and it's above the crank hub. It's easy to replace it just takes a little time.

To be honest with you I really havn't did anything but start it. I started it yesterday there were no unusual noises or anything. I didn't let it run that long so I still had oil pressure. I have narrowed it down to a few different things.

1. definate spark plugs
2. maybe the oil sending unit it looks like it has a bad wire.

I hope I get it running before race day I've been looking forward to racing for a while now. I'm getting kinda annoyed with this whole car down situation.

GEORGE OR ANYONE WHO KNOWS????????
You mentioned the oil screen may be clogged when preassure builds up. My ??? is where is it located I really really really hope you don't say in between the oil pan and the crank!!!!! If it is I'll see you guys next year.

I knew you were going to say it was under the pan. I pretty much knew it was under there the whole time I was just praying it wasn't. If it is under the pan and it's clogged I have two options do the engine flush treatment. Or wait till this winter when I rebuild anyways. At this point I would have to say this winter I don't want to lift the engine 6 inches just to get the pan out. I already replaced the gasket and that was a pain in the Azz. They don't make these cars easy. Good info though Do you think an engine flush system would work??????

Hey are you working tonight or are you at home. I just got back on and it's 0230 in the morning so I don't want to call you if your at home sleeping. If you are at work just respond back to this and I'll give you a call tonight. Talk to you later Ryan.
