Thanks for the info. I may try and tackle this, but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to use those regs.

Johnny, I am well versed with the UASEUR reg. I am more than happy to help. Just let me know when/where and what you need.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I'll be getting my cutout removed. Sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I guess I'll go ahead and replace my axle-back piping for flow also. My stock is 2.25 and from the axle forward is 2.5. So I'll replace the cutout with a pipe and the axle back and I should be good to go.

You guys have helped me out a lot. I can't wait to meet you all.

Got a few questions about this since I might be on my way back.

1) Do they fail you if you have SFC's that clear 11cm?
2) Do you have to provide any inspection certificates for aftermarket shocks/springs?
3) Do they do emissions?
4) My understanding is that 96DB is the limit, at what RPM?
5) Do they fail you for a cage?
6) Do they fail you for having nitrous pipping run to the motor?

I'm willing to remove the cage, SFC's, and nitrous lines as well as get new mufflers but not so much in regards to getting the suspension certified (it is just stock replacement items).

I also wouldn't pass emissions but I do think I can get the stroker silent enough for the inspection.

Thanks.

Not yet, but there has been talk about starting it.

The limit is 95dB at 1/2 the redline on your tachometer.

I have not heard of this happening and do not know why they would. I am sure it would attract attention to make them look deeper into other things to fail though.

I will have to look that one up, but I do not think so.

I wouldn't change any major items until they tell you to. The consistency is not the best.

Thanks.

Nothing a bag and a half of steel wool won't fix :ok:

Is the steel wool trick actually working for people?

I believe I read about one of the electric sports cars that had a sound generator mounted to simulate engine sounds ;)

I used one of the Dynomax(?) cones to hold it in.

The inspections plain and simple are BS. A cheap way to lower your decibles too would be to get a larger muffler. My original Cat-back muffler rusted after 6 yrs so i bought i think a hooker muffler which lowered the db noticeably. I am at the point where i am like f*ck them inspectors!!! I just put on my Strano springs and shocks on and if i have to i will register and deregister my car all year if i got to  !! F*ck these punkazz regulations!! My windows are messed up now because of the whole tint removal crap so now every crook and robber can just look down in my car!! Yeah i am a little up set about it :ok: But i do know that the chubby bastard inspector at spang did say rubber spring boosters are legal as long as they do not fall out, so get the "U" shapred ones ....and man did he look for them even though i did not use them.

If I use steel wool I'll shove them in the pipe just before the mufflers and hold them in with a steel filter/grate of some kind as well as put my cats back on...

I got creative with a wadded up coat hanger to hold the wool in place.

Okay, just found out I am going to be heading back to Germany.

Really need to try and crack the code on this so I'm not screwed with a car I can't register.

If 11cm under body clearance and 95db is all I have to worry about then I can work with that. Last time I was there I was given a lot of crap about my other modifications and not having the proper documentation for suspension/brakes etc...
