How much oil do you put in the Z28 LS1 when changing? The manual says something about 5 liters. Seems too little for me.
Thnx.

Hm, not really a good comparison, but the 5.7 in my '79 took about 4.5l (from empty) ...

Just took a look at my Haynes manual... LS1 is 5.5qts, LT1 5qts ... 5.5 converts to about 5.2 Litres ...

If you also change the filter, I am pretty sure it is 6 qts, which is close to 6 liters. I recommend that you put in 5, start the engine and let it build up pressure, and check for leaks. Then shut it down and check the oil level. I always buy 6 qts.

Garry is right, it is 5.5 quarts with the filter change.
