Looking for any place, within a reasonable distance from K-Town, that can shorten and re-balance a driveshaft for my 78.

Oh I see how it is- only come around here when you want something. mmm, hmm! :o

Just kidding, but the place on the way to Sembach can do pretty much all car related things.

Where at? I might need to have mine shortened in my '57.

I'm surprised I posted here too...I usually don't get a reply...unless it's from you or Garry.
I've heard differing opinions of the Sembach place, but I guess it's worth a try.

They just rebuilt my LS1, and it runs better than new. I recommend them. Just don't rush them and they will do it right.

Gives me more confidence . Thanks, Jack. I'll give them a ring. They obviously speak English....?

The reason for the driveshaft is to put a 700R4 in my 78 Z behind the 383. I should be more worried about finishing the engine.
3:73 gears + 350TH = shitty gas mileage.

A 200R4 will not require a new driveshaft. The overdrive ratio is slightly higher (700=.70, 200=.67) and it can be built up to handle over 550hp. Bolts right up as long as you get a dual bolt pattern bellhousing. The other is B.O.P. only. Less crossmember mods needed as well...
