If you have EGR and want to use it with the LS6 intake manifold I would say SLP is a good address. :)

Get the FAST intake manifold. It can be ported to flow match a good set of heads. You can also get the Holley, which can also be ported and polished to a chrome like finish! Those are much better options for someone who wants a performance gain. I don't think anyone makes an aftermarket LS6 intake, anyway! ;)

Your car came from the factory with the LS6 intake already on it. If you want an aftermarket intake that flows better than get the FAST intake but if you haven't done a cam & head upgrade your throwing away $$$$$

That is true, but you will see a partial gain with it.

Ok, I have a normal 2001 Trans AM WS6. I thought I had an LS1 Intake. Is it an LS1 or LS6? How do I tell the difference?

You are correct John! That is about a 5-10 HP improvement over the LS1 intake Hoch! ;)

Ok, then what is the difference between and LS1 and an LS6 then? Or, what is the difference between my LS1 (with an LS6 Intake says you all) and an LS6 in a vette?

The whole engine is different! The only thing the '01s and '02s got was the intake manifold, and maybe the cam (I think). That's it. And you needn't question the fact that you have an LS6 manifold- you do!

For us guys with the older F-Bodys the LS6 intake is a nice upgrade. It does not have the ugly EGR piping running into it. Adds about 10 or 15hp. Just a little extra to help out.

If you have a 2001, there is a slim chance you may also have the LS6 block, but not the heads and cam to go with it. If you are at one of the meetings sometime, I can look at your engine and tell you which block you have. I read about it a while back but can't remember where it was so can't tell you easily how to tell. The differences aren't major.

I think I saw something about that on LS1Tech.
