Has anyone had one of their brake brackets come loose? The caliper is tight and snug, but for some reason, the thin metal bracket that holds the brake pad has become loose ... I can still brake no problem, just when I hit a bump I hear it rattle... very annoying ... I tried to see if I could get in there and tighten it somehow, but there is nothing to tighten... anyone have any ideas??

Hmm. got me on that one. I'd have to see that personally. Never heard of that before.

Locktight might work, but to answer the original question, no I have ever heard of that happening.

Are you sure your brakes are working properly? I think it might be one of two things; either you need to tighten that bracket (there are two bolts on each side, holding them on), or you need to bleed your brakes! I'm pretty certain those are the only two things that could be wrong!

sounds from the description , it is the pad shim also known as the ant sqeal shim. if it is detached , stick it back on with high temp silicone . or throw it out and use the silicone the back of the pad.

I know the brakes are working because I have roughly the same wear on both sides... I found this pic and modified it to identify the metal bracket I am talking about...
Is that the shim you are talking about Roy?
