temp plates (yellow or red) are allowed = "Modified Streetmachines"
In the "Heads-Up" you run whoever you want,
in the Brackets you will run in the "Modified Streetmachines" even when the car is 100% stock.
the "Open" is for the cars with no street plates but DMSB (or other) race registration (SuperGas and some Beetle)
Note: If you decide to start with any type of temp plates please make sure you have the papers fors the plates with you at inspection/registration, they might be checked
On the rollbars for the convertibles: if the car is street registered with regular plates and you beat the 14 by a tenth or a few, I am not going to send you home. Now if you run with racing mods which are not legal on public streets i.e. nitrous, slicks, or other,
and you get in the lower 13's and faster and faster... yes I WILL ask you to come back with a rollbar next time:
- If you have ANY accident at the site then I will be under investigation why I allowed you to run under unsafe conditions.
- Your (health/life)-insurance may refuse to pay... no matter if the accident had anything to do with a rollbar or not.
I know there are other events where everything is allowed, where you can race without helmets, with passengers, etc.
All this proofes how careless the organizer(s) really are, their worries are to loose money if they enforce rules.
I care for all of you and your families and I do not want anybody to get hurt, and I do not want to get shut down for some stupid reason.
AlsoI am aware of NHRA's new rules/times for rollbars. Whoever wants to refer to those new NHRA rules, should first read all the details.
If you want to run under those rules you got to apply to ALL of the NHRA rules (i.e. clothing), not just pick the single part you like.
I tried to make the rules in Bitburg as easy and simple as possible but also following the existing rules for dragracing in Germany, because of above mentioned insurance and law reasons.
The trend here goes towards allowing street registered cars to run as they are, 13's in a vert without rollbar seems to be possible as long the vert is factory stock! But they do not allow any temporary registration plates, nitrous, slicks, in the public dragracing classes at all
Now for those decide to run by NHRA rules, shoot me a mail and we will get together and work a safe acceptable alternate route for the US side.
I expect at least a decent number of interested people willing to do the work - I will NOT make it easy for you and just adopt a number, if we go by NHRA, we go by all NHRA - and when finished it will be the alternate choice (for US only) to the existing rules.
